05/2008 LC accepted as a finalist in The Richeson 75 International Figure/Portrait 2008 Competition

Juried by Terry Howell Stanley, PSA, artist and Director of Richeson School of Art & Gallery and a committee of art professionals from Jack Richeson & Co. Juried by Carl Belz - Director emeritus of the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts. The publication will be distributed nationally in the fall of 2008.

04/2008 LC accepted in the Rocky Mount Art Center 51st Annual Juried Art Exhibition

Two paintings "Where is That...." and "Say Fromage" (left) were selected by Juror Elma Johnson to be included in Rocky Mount Arts Center's 51st Annual Juried Art Exhibition to be held at the center; 270 Gay Street Rocky Mount, North Carolina from May 24 - September 14, 2008 with an awards reception on Friday, June 6th, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Cafe Conversation

03/2008 LC accepted in the Madison National 2008

Juror Sylvie Fortin, Editor-in-chief of ART PAPERS, has selected "Cafe Conversation" along with 26 other Artists from over 450 entries. The exhibit is April 16 - June 30 2008 with an opening reception on Sunday April 20th 2008 from 2 - 4pm. Madison-Morgan Cultural Center 434 South Main Street Madison, GA 30650.

10/2007 LC is awarded first place at the Fine Art Depot

Larry Elder of Elder Gallery in Charlotte awarded Lori "First Place" for her 6"x6" oil painting titled "The Art Purchase" . The exhibit will be on display until October 28, 2007.

Paper BagSpectral Signature

09/2007 LC gets accepted into Palm Springs Art Museum 39th Annual National Juried Exhibit

Both of her oil paintings "Paper Bag" and "Spectral Signature" were selected by Juror Susan Parke.  Opening night is Tuesday November 6, 2007 with a museum wide evening program that begins at 5:30 pm.  
Lori's painting "Paper Bag" was honored with an award by First Community Insurance.  The exhibit will continue until 12/23/07.  For more information visit http://www.psmuseum.org/

09/2007 LC is accepted into HAMMERS 2008 "Images of Home" Calendar

Lori's oil painting "A is for Apple" will represent the month of September.  HAMMERS is part of the Davidson Housing Coalition and assists in home repair to those in need.

04/2007 - LC Neill's Artwork selected for Postcard

Lori's oil painting "Sunrise, Foggy Morning over Lake Norman" was selected for reproduction in a series of 12 postcards representing the Lake Norman area.  Her painting was also awarded "Best Painting" in the category of Oils, Acrylic, and Mixed Media by Juror John Hair and Elizabeth Ross.  Original art from the postcards will be on display  in several locations including the Christa Faut Gallery in Jetton Village, Cornelius in July.

01/2007 - LC Neill is accepted to Creative Capital Professional Development Program

Sponsored by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council.  This in-depth seminar will be held in February at the McColl Center in Charlotte.

11/2006 - LC receives First Place Award for her painting entitled "7-Up"

Selected by Juror Laura McCarthy and part of an exhibit at the Wooden Stone Gallery. Lori accepted the award for first place - oils and acrylics.  Her 5"X7" oil painting is one of several small paintings in a series of everyday objects.  McCarthy's comments were "There is an intimacy of scale, a bit of the sublime in these dice.  A secret that I must lean in to take a closer look upon.  Is it 7up, or does the reflection matter?  White looks other-worldly."

5/04/2006 - Lori scores a Hat Trick  - Three awards from one show!

Over 210 entries were submitted to the Depot Fine Art Center for their Spring Art Show.  Lori accepted awards for:
*   Second Place - Oil/Acrylic/Painting
*   Speed Ball Award
*   Honorable Mention - watercolor painting
The juror was James (Jamie) Frankie designer of the new US Mint  nickel, and Professor at UNCC. 

04/28/06 - Lori Neill wins second place for portraiture at LKNart show.

Selected by Juror Missie Dickens President of the Watercolor Honor Society.

03/2006 - Lori Neill is selected for "Boats of Lake Norman" fine art print.

Lori's entry is a mixed media collage titled "NC0899LB" 13"X16" .  A total of nine artists were selected by Juror Christa Faut of Christa Faut Gallery Cornelius, NC.  All nine artists will be represented on a single print depicting recreational boating scenes of Lake Norman, NC.  Production of the prints will include acid-free, limited edition art prints and offset produced posters.

One in One Thousand

11/2005 - LC receives award at "Building Community" juried art exhibit.

Third place was awarded to Lori Neill for her egg tempera painting "One in One Thousand" by Senior Curator David J. Brown of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art.  www.SECCA.org  Brown's comments were  "The work is lovely, depicts a bit of mystery and mastery."

10/25/05 - Lori Neill to give lecture on Egg Tempera

At the Mooresville Artist Depot 103 West Center Street map Mooresville, NC.  Meeting starts at 7:30pm
The lecture will include the history, elements of egg tempera, a short demonstration of the medium and viewing of original paintings.  The meeting is free and open to the public.

05/02/05 - Lori Neill gives lecture on Egg Tempera

The lecture includes the history, elements of egg tempera, and a short demonstration of the medium and will be held on Monday Evening 7:00 5/2/05 at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson, NC 7:00.

4/29/05 - LC Neill gets accepted into the Doug Helms Memorial Art Show

Lori is awarded "Best of Show" from juror Ce Scott.  Scott is the Director of programs for the McColl Center and received her BFA from Wayne State University, Detroit in Printmaking. 

11/18/04 - Lori and Brian accept awards at first juried show -

Huntersville, NC - Building Community a fund raiser and art exhibit for Our Towns Habitat for Humanity and the Lake Norman Art League featuring area artists announces the results of their show.  This years juror was Herb Jackson, a distinguished international artist, recipient of North Carolina's Life Time Achievement award for Fine Arts and Professor at Davidson College.  Jackson selected 43 works for display.  First Place went to Lori Neill for "Midnight Dip" an egg tempera painting and Third Place to Brian Neill for "Crown Jewel" a mixed media art display case.

The Society of Tempera Painters objective is "Improvement in the art of Tempera painting by the interchange of the knowledge and experience of the members.

07/01/04 - New Name Introduced

Lori and Brian take it another step forward and introduce Still River Studios. The studios will focus on fine art as well as multi-media functional objects. Using a variety of materials and techniques your always sure to be surprised at what you find at Still River Studios.
